==== SPECIAL SESSIONS AT ACE 2013 ====
The ACE 2013 Committee invites submissions of proposals for Special
Sessions at the Advances in Computer Entertainment conference, to be
held in Twente, Netherlands, November 13th-15th, 2013. A special session
presents papers dedicated to a specific topic that deserves more focused
attention; the organizers of a special session will take care of
soliciting a small set of high quality papers.
==== SUBMISSION ====
Proposals for special sessions are submitted through the conference
submission system EasyChair at
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ace2013netherlands. A
special session proposal should contain the following information:
* Title of the proposed Session
* Names/affiliation of organizers (including brief bio and contact
information)
* An introduction (maximum 2 pages) stating the importance of the topic
and the objectives of the proposed Session
* Tentative/confirmed list of papers (minimum 3, maximum 4); the
organizers can present an introduction to the topic of the special
session but should not submit other research work to the special session.
* Proposals should clearly describe the topic and explain why the topic
cannot be covered appropriately in regular sessions.
Papers for approved Special Sessions should follow the regular paper
format (16 pages Springer format) and should be submitted following the
same schedule/procedure as for regular papers, and will undergo the same
reviewing process by anonymous and independent reviewers as regular
papers. Papers of an accepted session will appear in the ACE 2013
conference proceedings, along with an introduction by the organizers (4
pages Springer format).
Proposals will be evaluated by the ACE 2013 Committee based on the
relevance and significance of the topic and potential interest to the
conference attendees.

==== THE CONFERENCE ====
ACE has become the leading scientific forum for dissemination of
cutting-edge research results in the area of entertainment computing.
Interactive entertainment is one of the most vibrant areas of interest
in modern society and is amongst the fastest growing industries in the
world. ACE 2013 will bring together leading researchers and
practitioners from academia and industry to present their innovative
work and discuss all aspects and challenges of interactive entertainment
technology, in an exciting, cultural, and stimulating environment.
ACE is by nature a multi-disciplinary conference, therefore attracting
people across a wide spectrum of interests and disciplines including
computer science, design, arts, sociology, anthropology, psychology, and
marketing. The main goal of ACE is to stimulate discussion in the
development of new and compelling entertainment computing and
interactive art concepts and applications. All ACE participants are
encouraged to present work they believe will shape the future, going
beyond the established paradigms, and focusing on all areas related to
interactive entertainment.
