Hello Tom,
I do.

Not for studies of the games industry though. Have you looked at Aphra Kerr's work?
Cheers,
Diane

Subject: [DiGRA UK] Newcomer interested in Laclau/Foucault-related game studies

Greetings DiGRA UK.

I'm a MA graduate currently in the South West area (Chippenham, not far from Bristol) hoping to start up in games industry research. My studies (other than Games Design, which I did at Newport) have primarily been Foucauldian and Laclaudian discursive analysis and critical media/cultural studies surrounding it (such as Hall's encoding/decoding model) and ways these models and connected research may apply to games and the industry locally and internationally.

I was curious if any past or current research that approaches games through Foucault/Laclau discourse that people might recommend? I don't recall much if any mention of games during my studies and have yet to find any such work, but given how prominent it seems in media studies I would be surprised if a games researcher somewhere has not approached it before i do.

Many thanks everyone, and best of luck with your research.

Tom
