** European Games Debate on Financing the video game industry
------------------------------------------------------------

Dear partners and friends,

For the 2nd time, we have the pleasure to organize the European Games Debate with MediaDeals and with the support of the German Federal Ministry for digital and transport. The debate is the annual online public event of the European Games Think Tank focusing on the funding of the video game industry. The event will take place online on Wednesday 15th of December from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM (CET).

Join us and register here on EventBrite (https://www.eventbrite.de/e/european-games-think-tank-debate-on-financing-the-industry-tickets-205225273317) to attend the debate!

In 2021, SpielFabrique & MediaDeals conducted several round tables and interviews with European video game actors, covering 4 different topics: public funding, private funding, banking & financial institutions and professionalisation of studios. The idea behind this research was first to have a good understanding of the funding of the video game industry and then to address issues and discuss improvement opportunities.

During the 15th of December, the results of the research will be summarized and panels organized, gathering several European video game actors. This time, the 4 different topics will be crossed to discuss how the different funding institutions can better collaborate to improve the funding system in the video game industry.

In this panel, the questions of financing all the actors of the ecosystem, as well as how to implement new financial instruments and attract traditional investors will be discussed.
