Both. The cold, harsh fact is that despite any academic prejudices and 
expectations, some of the greates papers, especially as larp is 
concerned, have been published in the Knutepunkt books. (Just think of 
Fatland 2005b, for instance.) And this is not, as you claim, reflected 
in the discourse: As one can google up, the research section of 
Playground Worlds (2008) is listen in some places as a refereed 
publication, in others not.

I like that idea, but I'd rather see more of the general role-playing 
research type, like Playing Roles at Tampere in 2006. I think many of us 
learned more about the field there than we would have at any 
form-specific event.
