forum for presenting research on modeling, developing and evaluating intelligent virtual agents with a focus on communicative abilities and social behavior. In addition to presentations on theoretical issues, the conference encourages the showcasing of working

<span style="font-size:16.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";color:#444444">The GALA event is primarily a video showcase of "short" projects involving animated lifelike agents (under one of the topics of the main conference). The main submission is a
video, with an optional short paper. It is open to students and industry as well as academic institutions. Researchers are also encouraged to submit demos, which will feature particular applications of Intelligent Virtual Agents, as well as tools for their
development. The submission should include a short paper explaining the main contributions of the demo, and a small video illustrating the demo to be conducted at IVA.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
