The 18th IFIP International Conference on Entertainment Computing, the oldest and prime scientific conference series in the area of Entertainment Computing, and the Joint Conference on Serious Games (previously Serious Games Development and Applications and GameDays  International Conference on Serious Games), will join together this year in the historical city of Arequipa, Peru. The two conferences bring together practitioners, researchers, artists, designers, and industry on the design, creation, development, use, application and evaluation of digital entertainment content and experience systems. The conference series is cross-disciplinary, and stretches over the domains of computer science, human-computer-interaction, content production, digital games, multimedia, media studies, art, and design. The conference series aims at presenting high quality scientific results spanning from theory to application, use-cases, experience, and demonstrations. 

We solicit papers, posters, art exhibits, interactive sessions, and demonstrations on topics that include but are not limited to the study of the design and interaction of: digital games, interactive entertainment, entertainment for purpose and persuasion, interactive art, serious games and more. Full papers are max. 12 pages excluding references, short papers are max. 6 pages excluding references, posters are max. 4 pages excluding references. All papers will be published in Springer IFIP-LNCS proceedings. Selected papers are eligible to be included in a special issue of the Elsevier journal Entertainment Computing (CiteScore 2.10). Last but not least, we are organizing an off-site event on "Teaching and learning entertainment computing - Between fun, experience and seriousness". This will be a half day workshop in Cusco, Peru (near Machu Picchu) on November 15, and will focus on in-depth discussions and brainstorming on how to teach and design curricula for entertainment computing.
