Next Wednesday the Graduate School of the Humanities of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam hosts a unique lecture bij Maxime Durand in-house historian of Ubisoft Montreal where he will be talking about his work on the Assassin's Creed  series. The past is a puzzle of which we lost most pieces and miss the art cover. Maxime Durand, the Assassin’s Creed franchise historian. will introduce us to the unique method developed by the Ubisoft teams working on Assassins Creed. They mastered to interpret the past through breath-taking digital environments. From assumed inaccuracies to unnoticeable historical details, the procedure is complex but rewarding with tens of millions of fans.

Maxime Durand graduated in History in 2010 (Univ. of Montreal) and has worked on most titles since. Yes, a history grad who works with his diploma!

Since 2007, Ubisoft has produced the Assassins Creed video game series set in different historical periods such as the Italian Renaissance, the French revolution and Victorian England. These games have become globally renowned for their detailed historical settings, based on the historical research of Ubisoft’s in-house historians.
