This email is to advise that the DiGRA Australia Annual General Meeting (AGM) is to be held on June 21st, 10am - 12pm, at The University of Sydney. You can attend the AGM in person, in Room 226 of the John Wooley Building at The University of Sydney, Camperdown, NSW, or electronically using Zoom, via this link:

We are seeking nominations from people who are interested in being a members of the executive committee, who will have the opportunity to shape the future direction of the Digital Games Research Association of Australia.

The business of the general meeting is as follows:


  1.  To confirm the minutes of the previous annual general meeting;


  1.  To receive and consider-



     *   The annual report of the committee on the activities of the Association during the preceding financial year; and
     *   The financial statements of the Association for the preceding financial year


  1.  To elect the members of the executive committee;



  1.  To elect members of the board.

Information about committee roles:

We would like to encourage nominations for all four roles in the executive committee. If you are interested in nominating for one (or several) of these roles, please send an expression of interest with a 150 word biographical statement to the out-going President, Marcus Carter (marcus.carter at sydney.edu.au<mailto:marcus.carter at sydney.edu.au>). If you have any questions about the roles please contact Marcus, or the current member in that role.

Details about the roles:

The President has the formal responsibility of being the chairperson of any general meetings, and works with the other committee members to develop and pursue the goals of the organization (such as assisting local hosts in organizing annual DiGRA Australia conferences, or hosting international conferences), as determined by the committee.

The Vice-President has the formal responsibility of being the chairperson of any general meetings if the president is unable to attend, and works closely with the president to develop and pursue the goals of the organization, as determined by the committee.

The Secretary has the formal responsibilities of maintaining the register of members in accordance with the rules of the incorporated association, take minutes at the annual general meeting and any special general meetings, and otherwise ensure that the association complies with its responsibilities as an association incorporated under Victorian Consumer Law.

The Treasurer is responsible for receiving all moneys paid to or received by the association, issuing receipts, and ensuring that the financial records of the association are kept in accordance with Victorian Consumer Law for incorporated associations. They are responsible for preparing and presenting the financial statements at the annual general meeting. The treasurer, along with at least one other committee member, is a signatory on the association's bank account.

We are also inviting nominations for 3-4 members of the board ('ordinary members') of the committee. The board is responsible for advising the committee, attending committee meetings, and assisting where needed. Historically, 2 of these roles have been filled by the outgoing President and Vice-President.
